PTZ stands for Pan, Tilt and Zoom; which means this camera does it all for you. You can rotate, tilt lenses up and down and zoom in and out on a part of the image you are trying to capture i.e. control your camera over all 3 axes. PTZ camera is generally implemented in tandem with a large surveillance system, in which the PTZ tracks movement while a fixed camera takes detailed shots.
